I am fascinated by the role that social technology and in particular, Twitter is playing in the new conflict in Iran. After thousands of Tweets on the subject Twitter has now moved their scheduled maintenance time to keep the service viable as a portal for suppressed news items out of Tehran. I’ve noticed lots of DJ’s, already immersed in the hive mind of the Twitterverse, joining the movement to share this information too.
Here are a few Tweets from Diplo, who has been particularly active on this topic. We’re so glad to see it and impressed to see so many producers and DJ’s we love embracing this trickle up channel for news. To our friends in Iran we stand behind you in your question for free and fair elections and media. STAND STRONG.
